Automated packaging lines could very well be a great addition to your production. They offer advantages such as quick and precise packaging as well as increased health and safety in your workplace.
At PJM, we develop, build, and maintain flexible, pharmaceutical packaging lines tailored to your specific requirements. We deliver user-friendly packaging lines with a high-performance rate that are line clearance compatible. As your automation solutions partner, we take responsibility for the entire packaging line – from conceptual design to operation – to make sure that you get the solution that adds the most value to your production.
In one of our latest projects, we delivered a solution that was designed to fit in a very small production suite. We built a machine that was 100% custom-made with a minimum footprint in mind. We positioned the different stations in a way that streamlined the packaging flow while keeping the machine easy to operate and maintain.
Not everyone has big and spacious production sites. However, a large production suite is not necessary for you to have an advanced automated packaging solution at your production facility.
We manufacture solutions based on your needs regarding functionalities, processes, and physical surroundings. We design to fit the purpose and the site, so you get a packaging line that utilizes your available production space in the best possible way while also meeting your requirements for efficient processes.
Adding flexibility to your packaging
Flexible, pharmaceutical packaging lines have the potential to save you time and money. In our packaging lines, we implement technologies and solutions that make it easier for you to readjust the process to your immediate needs while making sure that you avoid losing track of any products that pass through the machine.
In recent projects, we have worked on making the lines more flexible when it comes to different batch sizes. We have designed a line that can switch between larger batches and batches that only consist of one product entity. When developing a line like that, we are aware of the additional demands that come with the increased flexibility. In our design and programming, we ensure the machine can handle all the necessary scenarios, so you remain in complete control of the process and the products regardless of the scenario.
One technology we have implemented on recent packaging projects is an independent mechatronic transfer system where the different fixtures can move separately from each other on the transfer system. This allows you to have a flexible process while maintaining the overall efficiency. You can have entities move at different speeds and duplicate processes to create the optimal flow. In addition, the technology only requires you to have the number of fixtures needed in operation.
“We are always looking to increase the flexibility of our solutions while maintaining a high degree of traceability. And we will use the independent transfer system in future projects. We can’t wait to try other new technologies that can bring value to our customers. “
– Jens Ravn, Manager, Front End Design
Another feature that has top priority in our packaging solutions is serialization. Flexibility is great for saving time, but it also adds a layer of complexity when it comes to traceability. When designing packaging lines, we implement the necessary control system and inspections throughout the whole process that meet your requirements. By doing that we can guarantee you have complete control and traceability on every entity that enters the machine.
We are more than ready to take on the role of integrator and turnkey responsibility to ensure that you get the optimal solution that meets your needs. Lately, we have started collaborating with our parent company, BILA, to offer integrated, flexible end-of-line processes in our automated packaging lines. That is just one example of how we, through integration, ensure that you get a setup that works for you.
“We deliver a complete solution setup. This means that you get an advanced packaging solution integrated with your internal IOT setup along with a complete documentation and validation package that you can implement directly into your set-up.”
– Per Bøwadt Møller, Project Manager
PJM is following GAMP5 guidelines to ensure traceability from user requirements through design specifications to final test and validation.
